Ranunculus plants waiting to be transplanted.

Friday recap. I don't know about you, but I'm glad it's Friday. This week was cloudy with a chance of rain/snow mix. It poured in the middle of the week, and then a light dusting of snow covered the ground toward the end of the week. The sun didn't make many appearances either. I did see sunny skies and warmer temperatures for next week's forecast.

We worked on our heirloom chrysanthemum mother plants, getting them ready to start growing to take cuttings for new plants for this season. They look good and are ready to grow.

A beautiful heirloom chrysanthemum blooms last fall, Moira.

Next, on the only sunny day, we worked in one of our high tunnels, getting beds ready for anemones. My dad, Mark, worked on my small tiller to work the soil in the beds. Sometimes, it acts up and doesn't want to stay on. We powered through it, and the beds were ready to go in a short amount of time. We then were able to plant Pastel Mix anemones that we pre-sprouted in our heated propagation house.

My chickens, ducks, and geese didn't mind the rain this week. They enjoyed getting out and stretching their wings.

On days we weren't able to work outside, we continued to divide dahlia tubers. We worked on Sweet Nathalie, Linda's Baby, Terracotta, Hollyhill Miss White, Diva, and Dark Red Ball. The tubers are looking great! I also added a few new varieties we grew to our dahlia tuber collection in our online store for our upcoming tuber sale.

A bunch of our vegetable seeds arrived, too. We are planning on growing vegetables, herbs, salad greens, and flower starts at The Flower Shack this spring. I'm super excited about this new project. I ordered 30 different types of tomatoes because who doesn't need 30 different types of tomatoes. 🤣 When the seed catalogs come this time of year, I want all the seeds.

Also, my amaryllis is still blooming!

How was your week? Planning your garden? Let me know.

Have a great weekend! 💐🌻
